This was an unrealised project, due to be installed in an old factory.
The idea was to create an experience that, at first glance, seemed like and informative visitor attraction. A whole in the wall, dressed to look like some sort of accident, reveals further, subterranean levels – a hidden set of laboratries and chambers, taking the visitor on an immersive experience, and revealing a story and further myteries based around the legends and history of the area. While the whole experience had an aquatic feel, it incorporated history and folklore, and a backstory of a kind of secretive, mad scientist.
The initial phase was to try a few quickly thrown-together “posters”, to explore and attempt to capture something of the desired experience (and aiming to make the visitor feel submerged).

The next stage was to look at fitting an appropriate layout into the space available to us.

Finally, a seed stage allowed us to build an initial visualisation of the space. Made with 3DS Max and Corona

Obviously, further development would have lead to greater detail and a more thorough and cohesive themic treatment.
